a missing word in between
i am missing a word, in between of missing you and not missing you
i am missing this word, to describe what it is like without you, here.
and yet, i still feel you here, a presence of you that has never left.
i am missing a word, for a feeling you have inside of me,
— a word for a note you wrote in between your whispers and promises,
—a word for a gaze in between an inch and miles before our faces,
— a word for a touch traced between our hands and hearts,
— a word for an understanding of what love is, in every detail of
— your creases and mine, our misgivings and sighs
i am missing a word, for an idea of us, of what it is like to be with you, that even when you are not here with me, you are with me.
and maybe i don’t need a word, for all the things i am feeling.
maybe what i just need, is you, my in between of “missing you” and “always having you”
